I'm sure everyone knows a thing or two about the importance of your immune system. Glutamine is also a precursor to GABA, which is the chief inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, which gives you that calm, relaxation feeling, increasing mental performance and focus. Zinc is a very important mineral. We have no mechanism to store zinc and most of our diets are deficient in Zinc, which gets depleted easily from physical/sexual activity. Zinc is responsible for many different enzymatic reactions, some of its benefits include, helping with hormone production, tissue repair, aids with the immune system and helps with digestion, it also has been known to act as an anti inflammatory, and for all of those who know me, I'm big on those!
If you find yourself getting sick, it may be beneficial for you to mega dose Glutamine and Zinc. The amount will be dependent on size, diet, activity level etc. I myself will mega dose these supplements if I feel a sore throat or aches and in no more than two days, all symptoms are gone. Be sure to always consult your doctor prior to something such as this though. Also, do not cheap out on supplements! You get what you pay for and poor quality supplements have been shown to actually be toxic to the body.
